I am pleased to extend a warm welcome to the newly established College of Health Sciences (CoHS) at Lawrence Technological University! This is a significant milestone for our university, as we haven't added a new college in over 50 years.

Our focus within the college is providing practical, interdisciplinary education to prepare the next generation of healthcare professionals. Our mission is clear: to develop compassionate healthcare professionals through transformative education, interprofessional collaboration, and evidence-based practice. We are dedicated to providing an enriching and transformative educational experience. Our programs are carefully crafted to foster interdisciplinary collaboration, harness innovative technology, and instill a deep sense of compassion and patient-centered care in our students. Our faculty and staff are highly qualified and committed to the success of each student.
We are currently working on implementing a "Hub and Spoke" model to cater to the high demand for specialized healthcare professions. This model will offer pathways for students to pursue associate degree specializations such as surgical technician, radiology technician, respiratory therapist, and dental therapist, which also serve as pathways to bachelor degrees.
Our existing programs, including a Bachelor of Science in Nursing, a Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies, a Master of Science in Cardiovascular Perfusion (affiliated with the College of Engineering), and an online Master of Science in Healthcare Administration (affiliated with the College of Business and Information Technology), reflect our commitment to meeting the needs of the healthcare industry.
Looking ahead, we are exploring opportunities for program expansions to address the growing demand for healthcare professionals. This includes potential expansions into fields like occupational therapy and physical therapy.
As the founding dean of CoHS, I am honored to be part of this journey. I invite you all to join us as we work towards our mission of shaping compassionate and skilled healthcare professionals.
